The Ready Room – Representative Scott Franklin September 16, 2024

Hello Friend,
Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook , Twitter , Instagram  and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.

PROTECTING U.S. FARMLAND FROM COMMUNIST CHINA

Image

From 2011 and 2021, Communist China’s ownership of U.S. farmland quintupled from 69,000 acres to over 380,000 acres across 27 states. Businesses with Chinese Communist Party ties have also purchased land close to military bases. This is a critical threat to both our food and national security.  I cosponsored and voted for H.R. 9456, the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act, to bolster measures to track and prevent land purchase by foreign adversaries. It passed the House 269 – 149 on September 11 and awaits Senate action.  Click here to learn more.

Back-to-back natural disasters and greening have impacted Florida’s
