Hello Friend, RESTORING AMERICAN ENERGY INDEPENDENCE Domestic clean energy production is a key part of rebuilding American energy dominance and unlocking lower costs for families. However, geothermal energy is among the many energy sources subject to lengthy permitting requirements. This stalls valuable production for years which could be harnessed to help power Florida homes and businesses. That’s why I voted for H.R. 7409, which streamlines this process and exempts geothermal operators from federal drilling permit requirements for wells on non-federal land. The measure also includes exemptions for the burdensome permitting review stages required by National Environmental Policy Act. It passed the House and awaits Senate action. Click here to learn more. VET FEST: CONNECTING VETERANS WITH CRITICAL RESOURCES It was an honor to host our second annual VET FEST last weekend at Marchant field. This event supports Central Florida veterans, offering on-site resources from the VA, including toxic exposure screenings, women’s health services, mental health support and more. REPLENISHING SMALL BUSINESS DISASTER LOAN FUNDING The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced it needs additional funds to continue assisting hurricane-impacted small businesses. Congress must immediately replenish the SBA’s disaster loan program to help Florida’s small business community get back on their feet. I joined my colleagues to urge Congress to include robust funding for the SBA disaster assistance loan program in any upcoming disaster supplemental package. Click here to learn more.
