Hello Friend,
Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook , Twitter , Instagram and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.
INVESTIGATING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
Monumental security errors were made while protecting President Trump and attendees at the campaign rally in Butler, PA on July 13th. Former U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle testified before Congress that her agency’s response to the assassination attempt was “the most significant operational failure… in decades.” She has now resigned, but there are still many questions which victims and Americans deserve answers to.
Congress must continue working to ensure complete transparency and accountability. That’s why I cosponsored H.Res. 1367 to establish a bipartisan task force dedicated to investigating the attempt on President Trump’s life, which passed unanimously in the House. The role of every federal, state and local entity will be thoroughly examined. The task force will issue their findings and recommendations by December 13, 2024.

CUTTING ENVIRONMENTAL RED TAPE
n 2021, without Congressional approval, the Biden-Harris Administration formed the Justice40 Initiative, mandating 40% of certain federal spending be directed towards “environmental justice” efforts. Under this initiative, federal agencies are forced to prioritize radical Green New Deal climate policies. This diverts agencies’ attention away from their respective missions and can even cause red tape that delays environmental cleanup activities.
I cosponsored the Restricting Environmental Gamesmanship (REGs) Act to block multiple Biden-Harris executive orders responsible for the Justice40 initiative and prohibit agencies from pursuing harmful environmental justice policies.

MAKING HEALTHCARE MORE AFFORDABLE & TRANSPARENT
Skyrocketing prices and lack of transparency in the healthcare system has made it more expensive for many Americans to receive needed care. Those in mostly rural areas—like FL-18—lack access to vital care as many clinics and health centers are left underfunded and in disrepair. To help patients shop for affordable care, treatment and services, I voted for H.R. 5378, the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act:
- Increases price transparency throughout the health care system;
- Lowers out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs;
- Expands access to more affordable generic drugs; and
- Revives community health centers and training programs to recruit new doctors and serve rural areas.

@RepFranklin US intelligence and the IDF confirm Iranian-backed Hezbollah killed innocent children in the latest attack in the Golan Heights. Our prayers go out to the families of the innocent young Israeli lives lost to yet another brutal, terrorist attack.
@RepFranklin Isn’t it interesting that throughout decades of decisions by a liberal leaning SCOTUS , Democrats were fine. But now that it leans conservative, it’s suddenly illegitimate and they claim we must “reform” what’s worked since 1789?
@RepFranklin Iran’s radical leadership is the snake at the root of all the evil in the Middle East. If you want to kill the snake, cut off its head.
@RepFranklin It’s been 1,224 days since @POTUS tasked @VP
Harris with running point on the border crisis.
During that time:
- 9.7 million illegal immigrants crossed the border
- She only visited the border ONCE
- NEVER met with CBP leadership
Reality Check: Harris and the media are trying to rewrite her role because she failed spectacularly at securing the border.
