Hello Friend,
Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook , Twitter , Instagram and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.
Securing Our National Oil Reserves
For two years, the Biden administration has tapped the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) in an attempt to lower gas prices. These high prices were largely the result of policies restricting domestic energy supply implemented just days after Biden took office. The SPR, created for national energy emergencies, is down 36 percent—its lowest level since 1984. Last Friday, I voted for the Strategic Production Response Act, which would prevent the president from tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for political purposes and require the Biden administration to create a plan to refill it. it. New Committee Assignments
I’m pleased to report that last week I was selected to serve on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Additionally, I was assigned to the following Appropriations Subcommittees:
– Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration
– Legislative Branch
– Military Construction and Veterans Affairs
Serving on these committees allows me to support Florida agriculture, my fellow veterans and make government work more efficiently for the people of FL-18. I appreciate my colleagues for trusting me with this opportunity and look forward to getting to work!
