Senator Rick Scott Update 5/4/2024

Friends,

It has been an eventful week as we continue to work tirelessly to earn the support of every Floridian. I’m thrilled to share some of the highlights with you.

As you may have seen, I had the honor of meeting with Jewish students at George Washington University in DC this week. GW has become a hotspot for antisemitic protests, which have caused great concern for the safety and well-being of these Jewish students. It’s imperative that we stand firm against such hatred and ensure that every student feels safe and supported on campus. We must also be prepared to hold these colleges and their leadership accountable if they fail to protect their students.

Additionally, I had the privilege of attending a pro-Israel rally at GW. Amidst the challenges posed by antisemitic sentiments, it was heartening to see a strong display of support for Israel and its right to defend itself against aggression. I stand firmly with Israel. We will not stop fighting to bring hostages home, and we will always stand with our great ally.

In Florida, our Sunshine Tour across the state is in full swing! I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve already visited 48 counties, and we’re on track to cover all 67 counties by this summer. This tour is about connecting with the people of Florida, listening to their concerns, and working together to find solutions. It’s been incredible to witness the diversity and resilience of our state, and I’m grateful for the warm reception we’ve received everywhere we go.
