Senator Rick Scott November 9, 2024

Dear Fellow Floridian,

When I came to Washington in 2019, I promised Florida families I would fight every day to Make Washington Work for them, and I am honored to have the privilege of continuing that fight in the next Congress. Together, we have secured big wins for Florida over the last six years, and I’m looking forward to building on that work in a second term. If you haven’t already, go check out my  Term in Review  to see what we accomplished.

It’s no secret that these past few years have been tough ones for Florida families. Between hurricanes and historic inflation, too many Florida families are struggling, and that makes our fight to Make Washington Work for you more important than ever. As a kid born to a single mom and that grew up in public housing, I understand how painful the skyrocketing cost of living is for hardworking families in our state. I watched my mom struggle to keep our bills paid and put food on the table. It makes me sick to know so many were facing these struggles and doubting that the American Dream would be possible for them, their kids and their grandkids. It’s why I’ve fought every day to rein in reckless spending and get our government back on track. I am going to continue to be 100% focused on getting our country and economy back on track in partnership with President Trump. To do that, I’m running to be Senate Majority Leader. We have been given a mandate by the American people to support President Trump’s agenda and Make Washington WORK again. President Trump needs an ally leading the Senate to bring Florida’s winning record to Washington and I know that working together, we can get that done.

Sincerely,

Sen. Rick Scott Shares 2024 Veterans Day Update Highlighting Legislative Update for the Military Community

Ahead of Veterans Day, Senator Rick Scott shared his 2024 Veterans Day Legislative Update . Within the update, Senator Scott shares his work to support Florida’s veterans, active duty service members and their families, and also highlights legislative actions he is working on and victories for the community.

Senator Rick Scott said, “This Veterans Day and every day, I am honored to serve the brave men and women who have fought to protect our great nation, and today I am proud to share this legislative update. As a Navy veteran and the son of a World War II veteran, I know firsthand the sacrifices our veterans, military members and their families make to defend our freedom. Veterans of our Armed Forces truly represent the best of what it means to be an American and a Floridian. None of the opportunities and freedoms we have as Americans would be possible without the dedicated service of our brave heroes. Fighting for our heroes continues to be one of my top priorities as your U.S. Senator and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. I have made it my mission to keep our state the most military and veteran-friendly state in the nation, by championing important legislation and funding to support priorities that matter most to Florida’s military and veteran families. I will always do everything I can to support our veterans and their families so they can succeed and pursue their dreams. If you are a Floridian in need of assistance with a federal agency, like the VA, go to rickscott.senate.gov/contact/casework to get the help you need.”

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT… Sen. Rick Scott Shares Fall 2024 Economic Snapshot

Senator Rick Scott released a weekly update on his actions to address America’s debt crisis and rising inflation and re-shared a copy of his Fall 2024 Economic Snapshot. Every day, Senator Scott is hearing from constituents about how much of a struggle it is for them to make ends meet due to the historic inflation caused by Biden-Harris Price Hikes. Last year, Senator Scott began distributing a report to his colleagues in the Senate, shedding light on America’s current concerning economic conditions. This report highlights the fiscal cliff the country is quickly approaching in the hopes of beginning a productive dialogue in Congress on how members can work together to fix the economic mess our country finds itself in today. Senator Scott releases this report on a quarterly basis. Since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office, CPI inflation is up 20.5%, while PPI inflation has risen 20.0%.

Last month, following the release of his Economic Snapshot, Senator Rick Scott said, “We can all feel the impact of the ongoing inflation crisis caused by the failed policies of the Biden-Harris administration, and the goal of this report is to bring in-depth attention to the fiscal cliff our nation is quickly approaching. Since Vice President Harris and President Biden took office, inflation has skyrocketed more than 20% and Biden-Harris Price Hikes are crushing hardworking American families. In Washington, it is my job to ensure we are fighting every day to leave this country in a place where future generations can achieve the American Dream. It is personal for me. I grew up in public housing and watched my mom struggle to make ends meet. It breaks my heart that families are having to make the tough decisions and go without. It is time for a sea change in Washington so that we can get families back on their feet, this country back on the path to fiscal sanity and make Washington work for everyone.”
