Working to Get Answers About the July 13th Assassination Attempt
This week, I joined my colleagues from the bipartisan task force on the attempted assassination of President Trump to the rally site in Butler, PA. This visit was imperative for the members of the task force to gain insight into the size of the area, the distance between the buildings, the layout of the grounds, and more. We also met with key local law enforcement agencies that were on-site at the July 13 rally. Speaking directly with the men and women who were on the grounds that day helped us to gain a better understanding of the perspective of the Secret Service’s local partners. Our task force will continue to work in a bipartisan fashion to understand what went wrong on the day of the attempted assassination, to ensure accountability for the American people, and to prevent such a failure from happening again. We are committed to leaving no stone unturned in this investigation in an effort to get the answers that the American people demand and deserve. This event was a great way to bring the community together to ensure our senior citizen population has access to the abundance of resources and tools available to them in our community.

A Look at the Largest Amazon Air Facility in the SoutheastDid you know that Amazon has a regional air hub right here in Lakeland? I had the opportunity to tour the 285,000-square-foot facility earlier this week and learn about how Amazon is investing in our community. As the largest Amazon Air facility in the Southeast, the air cargo complex offers employment to over 1,000 Floridians. As our community continues to grow and advance, I am proud to see many major companies moving to Florida’s 15th District—which has a tremendous impact on our economy, state, and community.
