Ensuring Transparency for the American People
I am honored to have been named as a member of the House Bipartisan Task Force to Investigate the Attempted Assassination of President Trump this week. The American people deserve answers regarding the catastrophic security failures we witnessed as a nation on July 13th. This task force will play an instrumental role in investigating the facts and circumstances that led to this attack. My colleagues and I will deliver the answers as to how it unfolded, and we will ensure that this never happens again.
I will continue working to find and deliver the facts and evidence, provide accountability for these egregious security failures, and support significant reforms to restore Americans’ confidence in the U.S. Secret Service and all government entities. This task is not one that I take lightly—and my colleagues and I are committed to conducting a timely, thorough, and comprehensive investigation to get the answers that the American people demand and deserve.

Join My Team at Service Academy Day
You’re invited to join my team on August 17th at our annual Service Academy Day! Service Academy Day is an opportunity for students to meet with representatives from each of the U.S. Service Academies to learn more about the application process.
All 8th through 11th-grade students from Hillsborough, Polk, and Pasco County schools are welcome to attend. If you or someone you know has a dream of attending one of our prestigious Service Academies or one day serving our nation, come out to learn more. Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy will be available.

The 2024 Congressional App Challenge is Now Live
Calling all local middle and high school students! I am pleased to announce the 2024 Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to encourage students across the country to participate in computer science and coding, will take place until October 24, 2024.
The Congressional App Challenge is open to all middle and high school students in Florida’s 15th Congressional District, either individually or in groups of up to four. Submissions will be judged on specific criteria including quality, creativity, originality, implementation, and demonstrated excellence in coding and programming skills. The FL-15 winning app will be featured on display in the U.S. Capitol, honoring the winners from across the country.

Be Prepared for Incoming Storms
As tropical cyclones are strengthening off the Florida coast, Governor Ron DeSantis has issued an Executive Order declaring Pasco, Polk, and Hillsborough counties in a state of emergency ahead of the storm’s potential landfall next week . Floridians understand just how quickly storms can develop and intensify. Now is the time to make a plan and make sure you’re ready for anything.
Officials and weather agencies are keeping a close eye on developments for potential impacts to our community. I encourage you all to heed local news, weather warnings, and emergency alerts for your area.
