Congressman Greg Steube July 14, 2024

July 14, 2024

Dear Floridian:

I know many of us are deeply worried about President Trump after the horrific attempt to take his life last night at a rally. First, they tried to jail him and now they’ve tried to kill him. This is a sad, sad moment for our country. I continue to pray for President Trump, his family, and everyone in Pennsylvania affected by this senseless violence. Evil will not win, this is America.

This week, I joined the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government to address the dangerous precedent of the use of political lawfare by the New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office against President Trump.

Meanwhile, House Republicans took a significant step to secure our elections by passing the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. This legislation ensures that only American citizens vote in our federal elections, a crucial measure to restore confidence in our democratic process given that the Biden Administration has permitted more than 11 million illegal immigrants to enter our country.

I supported H.J. Res. 165 to overturn President Biden’s dangerous Title IX re-write, which undermines protections for women and girls in educational institutions.

Joining the Weaponization Subcommittee to Discuss New York v. Trump

The Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government held a crucial hearing to examine the New York County District Attorney’s Office’s alarming actions against President Trump. As Democrats grapple with the Biden administration’s policy failures, they have resorted to weaponizing the legal system against President Trump. Their desperate pursuit of political adversaries through flimsy legal strategies not only reveals their weakness but also undermines the core principles of justice. The recent proceedings in New York clearly shows biased judicial conduct and the exclusion of vital expert testimony. This sets a dangerous precedent of political lawfare aimed at silencing political opponents.

Supporting the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act

This week, House Republicans passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, of which I am a cosponsor. This bill requires proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Despite opposition from the Biden White House and Far Left Democrats, this act aims to ensure only American citizens vote, addressing election security and minimizing foreign interference. The bill is especially needed now that the Biden Administration has permitted more than 11 million illegal immigrants to enter our country. The SAVE Act will help clean up voter rolls and restore confidence in U.S. elections.

Taking a Stand to Stop President Biden’s Title IX Rule that is Hurting Women and Girls

I recently voted in favor of H.J. Res. 165, a resolution introduced by Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) to overturn the Biden administration’s new rule announced in April to re-write Title IX. This rule threatens to dismantle vital protections for women and girls by eliminating female-only spaces like locker rooms and bathrooms. The Left will stop at nothing to strip these protections from women and permit biological males to take away opportunities from women. It also undermines due process rights, placing students and institutions in legal jeopardy, and jeopardizing decades of progress achieved under Title IX. The administration claims this rule promotes “educational equity” and “fairness,” but it leaves women and girls vulnerable to various threats and erodes the core principles of integrity and fairness. H.J. Res. 165 seeks to preserve the safety, opportunities, and rights of women and girls in educational institutions by stopping this misguided rule. As your representative, I am committed to defending the rights and protections that ensure a level playing field for all.

THE FLORIDIAN | Republicans Issue Scathing Remarks on Future of Biden in Office

“’Despite his obvious cognitive impairment, Biden is too stubborn to step aside, so Democrats must feel they have no choice but to support him,’ said Florida Rep. Greg Steube (R). ‘Whether it’s Biden or someone else, whoever the Democrats nominate will be a continuation of the same horrible policies that have put our nation in decline.’ Instead, Rep. Steube notes that ‘the American people know President Trump is the only choice to make our country strong and safe once again.'”

FOX NEWS | House Republicans say they aren’t sweating Kamala as possible Biden replacement

“Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., a Trump ally from a deep red district, told Fox News Digital that Biden and Harris ‘both own the same disastrous policies.’ It comes as conversations swirl around Harris as one of the most likely successors to Biden if he chooses to withdraw from the race ahead of his November rematch with former President Trump.”
