The Webster Wire
Listening to Floridians
Dear Friends:
Wednesday marks the twenty-third anniversary of 9/11. We must never forget the events that happened that day, the nearly 3,000 innocent people who perished in the attacks against our nation, and the countless first responders who risked their lives. Out of the darkness and rubble of that horrible day arose a national resolve and united nation full of patriotism. I ask that you honor the memory of the innocent victims of 9/11, the first responders, and the soldiers who have died since in the battle against terror.
Remembering and Honoring
Tomorrow, Congress will honor the 13 Service Members that were tragically killed by a terrorist attack on August 26, 2021, the deadliest day in a decade for our troops in Afghanistan, with the Congressional Gold Medal. Family members of all 13 will accept the medal, the nation’s highest civilian honor, on behalf of their loved ones.
President Biden, Vice President Harris and their advisors failed and have never fully accepted responsibility. House Foreign Affairs Committee recently released a report detailing findings from their three-year long investigation into the withdrawal. The investigation affirmed that the Administration failed in its duty to protect our soldiers and State Department personnel, and deliberately lied to the American people about their mismanagement and failed strategy.
It is important to note, the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal and attack at Abbey Gate was not a failure of our dedicated men and women in uniform. Please join me in expressing gratitude to our active-duty troops and veterans who have served in Afghanistan, their loved ones and our gold star families. Take time to check in with your fellow warriors and family members who served. We owe them a debt we can never repay.
$2 Million to You
My office has gotten $2 million was returned to constituents who contacted me this year for help with issues before the IRS, VA, Social Security and more. Providing my constituents with first-class assistance with issues involving federal agencies is one of my top priorities.Too often, Americans attempting to secure the veteran benefits, IRS or Social Security payments they have earned are met with delays. I am pleased that we have been able to intercede on behalf of so many constituents to ensure they receive the services and compensation they have earned. If you are a constituent in Congressional District 11 in need of assistance with a federal agency, call 352-241-9220 or visit https://webster.house.gov/casework.

Seeing and Serving You
Pam Jones, my Community Relations Representative in Lake County, attended the Lake Technical College Law Enforcement Graduation on my behalf, and provided congratulatory letter to the twenty-graduates. The Lake Technical Law Enforcement Class was sponsored by Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Clermont Police Department, Leesburg Police Department, and Winter Garden Police Department. Congratulations to the new recruits, that were sworn in at the end of the ceremony!
Pam also recently attended the Back 2 School Backpack Bash with the City of Groveland and Find Feed & Restore at Nathaniel Community Gymnasium at Hope International Church. Hundreds of students came out with their families where community businesses provided school supplies to fill their backpacks. Groveland Mayor Evelyn Wilson greeted all the families along with the Groveland Police Department and Pastor Brian Broadway. Pastors Tony and Jodie McCoy, thank you for hosting this event, to prepare our students as they head back to school!
Cindy Brown, my Community Relations Representative for Leesburg, joined Lake Sumter State College’s President, Heather Bigard; members of the Lake Sumer State College’s District Board of Trustees, local officials and community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of the College’s Workforce Development Center on the Leesburg Campus.
