Listening to Floridians

Dear Friends:

I hope you and your family are safe after Hurricane Milton. Following Governor DeSantis and the entire Florida delegation’s request President Biden approved the State of Florida’s Expedited Major Disaster Declaration request for Hurricane Milton’s catastrophic landfall. This declaration unlocks additional assistance to those impacted.

My team and I have compiled resources to assist you as you recover. These are all posted on my website at webster.house.gov/hurricane-milton . In addition to information on how to apply for FEMA assistance there are additional resources listed for homeowners, renters, veterans, business owners, and more. We are updating this page regularly.

Here also is a graphic you can download or save on your phone with frequently used resources.

Although my office cannot override or improperly influence the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a person’s behalf to answer questions, find solutions, or simply attempt to cut through the red tape. Please click here , if you would like us to contact FEMA or another federal agency on your behalf.

Seeing and Serving You

As Hurricane Milton was headed toward us, I checked in with each of our County Emergency Management directors and chatted with some of their team members. I am grateful for the service and sacrifice these Floridians have and are providing to our communities. Make sure to follow their directions and when you see them – thank them for their guidance during these Hurricanes!

Agriculture is one of the three pillars of Florida’s economy and farmers and ranchers all over the country grow and raise the food that ends up on our kitchen tables. I recently was honored to attend and briefly address members of the Orange County Farm Bureau, Community Leaders, Elected Officials, Orange County High School FFA students, and teachers at the Orange County Farm Bureau annual dinner meeting held at the Fairgrounds. I have and continue to work to protect our farmers and ranchers from unnecessary and restrictive Washington mandates. As your U.S. Representative, I will work to ensure that the best decisions are made as it relates to farmers and ranchers.

Cindy Brown, my Community Relations Representative for Leesburg, enjoyed spending time with the Pennbrooke Fairways Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Club, and sharing with them how our office serves them with federal agencies and departments. The Ladies Auxiliary serves Pennbrooke Fairways Veterans by demonstrating compassion, raising funds for support, and showing compassion to their widows and families. Thank you, ladies, for your dedication to our amazing brave Veterans!

If you’re a veteran and need assistance with VA appointment or your VA benefits, please contact my office .

Constituent Corner

A constituent from Sumter County reached out to our office with an issue receiving renewed passport. Our office contacted the New Orleans Passport Center, and they sent the tracking information for the constituent’s passport and received the passport early.

Constituent services is a critical element of our congressional office. The federal government is a massive operation, and my office is available if you ever need assistance in navigating the bureaucracy or cutting through red tape. We are here to serve you.
