The 6th Amendment guarantees every American the right to a fair trial and the right to effective legal representation when one’s liberty is at issue. The Public Defender employs a staff of 120+ people whose responsibility is to defend the Constitution. The Public Defender serves as a critical check on government power, protecting our personal freedoms from bureaucratic abuse and government overreach. Effective legal representation by the Public Defender’s Office reduces the need for expensive retrials and appeals. A fiscally responsible Public Defender minimizes the economic burden on our court system and avoids wasting taxpayer dollars on wrongful convictions. As the elected Public Defender, Blair Allen would focus on:

– Upholding Constitutional rights

– Ensuring a fair justice system for all

– Protecting against Government overreach

– Promoting fiscal responsibility

By protecting the rights of the indigent, the Public Defender protects all of our rights.
